Madrid Independent filmfest awards Iran’s ‘The Sea’

The Madrid Int’l Independent Film Festival in Spain awards Iranian short flick ‘The Sea’.

The 2022 edition of the Madrid International Independent Film Festival (FICIMAD) in Spain has awarded Iranian short flick ‘The Sea’.

Written and directed by Sahra Ramezanian and produced by Ilia Shams and Mohammad Kazem Shiran, the flick won the grand audience award at the Spanish event.

‘The Sea’ is about a group of friends who are planning for a trip to the north of Iran, not knowing an unexpected event is expecting them.

Farzaneh Salahshour, Farzad Alavi, Pouya Haqiqi and the director are among the cast members of the flick.

The film has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Twin Rivers Media Festival, the London Short Film Festival, and the NewFilmmakers New York Festival, all in the US.

The FICIMAD is an annual international competition that accepts films from all over the globe, offering awards in various categories.

The 2022 edition of the FICIMAD was held on June 9.
